Why Oktomata

Intelligence lives in the accumulating project, not the agent.

Agents are fungible. Projects remember.

Oktomata doesn't build personas. The unit of learning is the project — its outcomes, its distilled lessons, its earned conventions. Any capable agent placed into a rich project adapts to it. How many agents you run is a throughput knob, fully decoupled from learning quality.

Context is derived, not authored.

No hand-written role prompts, no cross-project priors pushed into an agent's head. A run's context is derived from the project's own history: same-project memory replay is an agent reading its own earned notes — that stays; everything else is bias, and it's removed.

Distillation with decay is the product.

Raw history grows unbounded and goes stale. Oktomata promotes decisions and conventions into distilled memory, decays conclusions that recent runs contradict, and keeps the durable record versioned for provenance.

Stop building zoos. Start building biomes.
